Rapid 7 back in one piece

This Theoben Rapid 7 was brought in to us because it is leaking air after each shot (this is usually caused by the seals on the valve stem and the Delrin valve body being worn out or damaged), so a full reseal was required.

This example had never been apart according to the owner, meaning everything had been in situ for around 3 decades since it came out of the Cambridgeshire factory. This was born out by how difficult the bottle adaptor was to remove!

Once the valve assembly was out, the above diagnosis was confirmed, with the valve body and stem O rings being completely flattened. All internal seals were replaced as this is best practice. My fill adaptor has gone walkies, so a new one is winging it’s way to us from Best Fittings UK. When it turns up, I can fill the buddy bottle, chrono test, and ensure the power complies with legislation.
